"Words, things, a look"

Free workshops for children inspired by the practice of Joseph Kosuth

Berggruen Institute Europe – Venice
June 10–11: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (2 sessions of 2 hours)
June 24–25: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (2 sessions of 2 hours)

The Berggruen Foundation, in collaboration with the SUMus, offers a unique experience for children aged 6 to 12: art and philosophy workshops designed to stimulate curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. Through artistic activities, thought-provoking games, and guided discussions, children are invited to explore the world in a new way: to observe, question, and imagine.

The series of workshops is part of the exhibition dedicated to the conceptual artist Joseph Kosuth, presented at the Berggruen Foundation in the Palazzo ai Tre Oci, in Venice.

The educational project aims to familiarize participants with the central themes of Kosuth's practice — in particular the relationship between word, image and object, as well as reflection on language as a tool for constructing meaning — through an experiential, participatory and accessible approach.

Visit to the exhibition

Each workshop includes access to the exhibition currently on display at the Berggruen Foundation: The Exchange Value of Language Has Fallen to Zero* 's * Joseph Kosuth. The exhibition explores major contemporary challenges—climate, technology, and possible futures—through art and architecture. It offers children and their parents a sensitive and accessible introduction to the transformations of the contemporary world.

What your child will experience
