Art and philosophy for children

Art can teach us to think. Philosophy can teach us to listen.
The second edition ofArt & Philosophy for Children is launched. This training program, led by the Fondazione di Venezia in collaboration with SUMus, introduces to Italy the international method Les Petites Lumières (Little Lights), conceived by the philosopher Chiara Pastorini and already implemented in schools.
Participate in this training course designed for educators, teachers and education professionals who wish to acquire new tools to support children and adolescents in the development of their critical thinking, creativity, emotional intelligence and active participation.
Participation is free thanks to the support of the Fondazione di Venezia. Places are limited (10 educators and 5 teachers). Applications will be reviewed based on professional profile, experience, and motivation as expressed in the application form.
The training will take place in Venice (historic center), on the following dates:
- October 3–4, 2026 (Saturday: 9:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. | Sunday: 9:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.)
- November 7–8, 2026 (Saturday: 9:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. | Sunday: 9:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.)
- December 12–13, 2026 (Saturday: 9:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. | Sunday: 9:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.)
The course comprises 36 hours of training in total.
The selected participants commit to putting the method into practice by leading a series of 5 workshops in a class in the Metropolitan City of Venice during the 2026-2027, thus contributing to the dissemination of this approach in the territory.
