First seminar of the scientific committee on the theme "regenerative future"

From September 29 to October 3, 2022: 1st seminar of the scientific committee on the theme "regenerative future"

An intensive four-day work program allowed the SUMus scientific committee to immerse itself in a new paradigm. We screened Sébastien Lilli's documentary films, which highlight potential solutions for significantly improving our lifestyles, and we also listened to Patrick Vivaret, a philosopher specializing in future trends, discuss the metamorphosis of the caterpillar into a butterfly, illustrating the transformation currently underway in society.

Biomimicry experts illustrated with concrete examples the power and intelligence of living organisms as an inexhaustible source of innovation for products and services. We also visited four pavilions of the contemporary art biennial, which artistically illustrated these same themes. Finally, we dedicated the last day to exploring the island of Sant'Erasmo, Venice's historic vegetable garden, meeting farmers who are increasingly developing local agriculture without pesticides or chemical fertilizers. We concluded our seminar with a bike tour of the island, allowing us to discover the light and beauty of the lagoon.
