SUMus becomes the Venetian hub for Inner Development Goals (IDGs)

January 2023: Inner Development Goals

SUMus becomes the official hub for IDGs (Inner Development Goals). Similar to SDGs (sustainable development goals), IDGs are an international initiative that promotes personal development that each of us could undertake in order to evolve our core values and therefore our behaviors and lifestyles that are not sustainable for the planet.

The Inner Development Goals is a non-profit organization for inner development. The initiative researches, gathers, and communicates science-based skills and qualities that help us lead useful, sustainable, and productive lives.

The framework of the Inner Development Goals (IDGs) is fundamental to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
The IDGs represent the wisdom of all ages and cultures, gathered by the crowd. No skills or methods were invented during the process. This learning ecosystem is constantly under construction, continuously evolving, and open source: it is about listening, collecting, and connecting the dots.
It is an ongoing journey of co-creation with many participants.

The primary objective is to work with and between organizations. They have great potential to accelerate human growth and collective learning. This is a highly effective way to reach many people and achieve systemic change. However, inner development goals bring added value to everyone in all cultures: individuals, families, organizations, communities, humanity, and the planet.

The IDGs are based on scientific research, experience, and continuous learning. One of the most important tasks is to communicate the results in a simple and accessible way.
The IDGs framework and methods must be easy to understand, otherwise they won't be used. Our main and favorite topic of conversation is how we create simple and functional everyday magic.

We are far more effective lawyers when we're having fun. That's why IDGs encourage us to be creative and celebrate our progress in every way possible. Art, music, and play are part of the IDG language. Just because the topics we discuss are serious doesn't mean they have to be boring.

The 23 competencies and qualities outlined in the framework should be embraced by everyone who wants to be involved in the IDGs. Think of it as a "staff handbook."
We encourage everyone to discuss things openly and guide us when we fall short. We are on a path where we learn and grow together.

Why Sumus is an IDGs Hub: At Sumus, we believe that change begins from within and that by developing our inner skills and capabilities, we can create a ripple effect that impacts our communities and beyond. As an official hub for the Inner Development Goals initiative, we are committed to promoting personal development and empowering individuals to take active steps to create a more sustainable, equitable, and compassionate world.
